Mrs. Binkley's Weekly Memo To Parents - 11/04/18

Dear HUPS Parents,
Every year we participate in theCalifornia Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS).  All staff take the survey, and we ask that our 5th and 6th grade students take the survey.  Parents of 5th and 6th grade students will be recieving a permission slip to allow your child to take the survey in school.  We hope that all of our HUPS parents take the survey as well.  Our goal is to get most all of our parents to participate in the California Helathy Kids Survey this year.  Your voice is important and we take this information to build our annual plan for student improvement.  The surveys are linked to this Parent Square message in both English and Spanish.  They are live now and we encourage you to take it, however, if you need help you can come to the computer lab after your parent / teacher conference.  We will have people in there to help you if you need it.
  • Participation in the survey is voluntary.
  • The survey is anonymous. It is designed so that participating parents/guardians cannot be identified from the data.
  • The results are for the use of your district. California Department of Education and WestEd will preserve data confidentiality and refer any data requests to the district.
Mrs. Nelson Does It Again on HUPS Halo-Read!!!!
  • Another AMAZING performance orchestrated by Ms. Nelson, the best music teacher in SBUSD!  Coach Marme did a great job pausing at just the right moments to add drama and suspense to the spooky story supported by the eerie sound effects provided by our very own and very talented 5th grade orchestra!  Students thoroughly enjoyed the event which beautifully supported are annual HUPS HALLO-READ!
Homework Club
  • As some of you know, we have had a bit of a rough start with Homework Club coverage.  I have received a committment from San Marcos Honor Students to have Monday, Tuesday and Thursday covered next week and after Thanksgiving break until Christmas break and then in January through the end of the year.  The club will be from 2:30 - 3:30.  Ms. Solis will also be in the library.  If there are times that she is unable to stay the last 30 minutes, she will let us know and we will find coverage.
Friday November 9, 8:45-11:30 AM, Gillespie Field, JOG A Thon
